2023 Met Gala

The Met Gala is the most prestigious event of the year. The Met Gala is an event held annually on the first Monday of May, since 1949.  The Met was founded by fashion publicist Eleanor Lambert. However, in 1995 Vogue editor in chief, Anna Wintour, became the chairperson. The Met is an annual benefit that supports the New York charitable institutions. When the Met first started only New York eliters and top fashion industry. In New York it is one of the most blazing charities with $9 million raised in 2013, $12 million the following year, and a record $17.4 million in 2022.

Anyway, let's get into this year's theme. On Wednesday, January 19, 2023. The people have finally been given an answer. So drumroll please………..the theme is….. Karl Lagerfeld! This years Met will be in honor of the legend and hyperactive mastermind Mr. Lagerfeld. I know what your thinking, didn’t he only design for Chanel? Nope, he gave his talent to some of the biggest fashion houses in the world, Balmain, Patou, Chloé, and Fendi, what a list. The co-chairs for this Met Gala are probably my favorite, Michaela Coel, Penélope Cruz, Roger Federer, and Dua Lipa. We all know about Anna Wintour's infamous relationship with Roger Federer. Now let’s move on, what will people be wearing?

To me an obvious and authentic choice would be one of Karl Lagerfeld’s Chanel designs. Or a modern day version. Who knows? Who do you want to see on the best dressed list this year? Or on the worst dressed list ;)?Who are you hoping will attend?
